The purpose of the Starting Point class is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by creating a conversational environment where they can explore faith and experience community. This ten-week class is for those who are new to a relationship with Jesus Christ, or those who are curious about God, Jesus, the Bible, or Christianity. Registration is necessary to attend. Material fee is $18.00.

*Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts, Your Unique YOU

Did you know that God has given every Christian at least one spiritual gift, and probably more? This class is designed to help you discover how God created you, in terms of spiritual gifts and style, so that you can grow more closely into what God designed you to be. You will take one or more assessments to help you discover your spiritual gifting. During the last class you will learn about the many ministry opportunities you can plug in to at Grace Community Church. Book fee is $7.00.

Comfort For Those Who Grieve

Have you experienced the death of a loved one or another significant loss? Or are you wondering how to help support family members or friends who are grieving? If so, please join us for a one-session class that provides insights into grief, as well as practical suggestions for healing and for supporting the bereaved. There’s no cost to attend, but please preregister by emailing gwenwaller@comcast.net to help ensure we have adequate materials.

*Love and Respect

This class is aimed at strengthening existing marriages and preparing couples for marriage. You will learn how to recognize and get out of the “crazy cycle” of unlove and disrespect that sometimes hits every marriage, and get into an energizing and rewarding cycle of mutual love and respect. Class format uses the Love and Respect DVD series, in which Dr. Emerson Eggerichs and his wife, Sarah, use Scripture and humor to focus on the wife’s need for unconditional love, and the husband’s need for unconditional respect. Each class will then discuss and apply the insights gained. There is no fee for alumni who already have a workbook. Workbook fee is $10.00. Facilitated by Mark & Robbie Pampe.

*Sacred Parenting
Feb 26 to Apr 1 | 6 weeks | B62
Sacred Parenting turns the tables and demonstrates how God uses our kids to change us. It affirms the spiritual value of being a parent, showing you the holy potential of the parent-child relationship. Take a step back and receive some much needed inspiration. You’ll be encouraged by stories that tell how other parents handled the challenges and difficulties of being a parent, and how their children transformed their relationship with God. *Creation vs. Evolution

The Creation vs. Evolution debate is an important discussion for Christians in today’s world. The scientific evidence we have is the same for both points of view, but typically the biblical view is not heard. This DVD series presents the scientific evidence for Creation, as seen by teachers and PhD scientists in the fields of biology, astronomy, and geology. Topics include age dating methods, global flood evidence, spontaneous cell creation, and mankind evolving from monkeys. The thirty-minute DVD presentation will be followed by discussion. So now that you have committed your life to Jesus Christ, “Now What?” This class is designed to help people answer this question and is ideally suited for those who have completed the Starting Point class within the last year. Just as there are fundamental things required to sustain a healthy physical life, there are also fundamental requirements necessary to maintain a healthy spiritual life. We will identify these fundamentals, examine what the Bible says about them, and show you how to begin putting them into practice. Book fee is $6.00. Facilitated by John Howard & Dixon Anderson.

*Changes That Heal
Starts Jan 15 | 13 weeks | B61
This study takes you step by step through basic tasks intended to bring about personal healing and help you develop a deeper relationship with God. To become mature image-bearers of God, we must learn to do four things: bend to others, set healthy personal boundaries, accept both the good and bad in life, and develop the traits of adulthood. We will identify problems that arise when these are not met, and show what changes to make to bring healing. Book fee is $10.00. Facilitated by Sandee Heighton.
