How does MOPS work?
At each meeting moms meet in specific table groups—a great way to get to know other moms! Each meeting is unique but there are always the basic elements such as food, special speaker, craft, and of course, time to chat without the distraction of our children! Our speakers deal with issues such as marriage, parenting, womanhood, family relationships, and many other practical "how-to" topics given from a Biblical perspective.
What about my children?
The great thing about MOPS is the fact that your children have a safe and fun place to be while you are in the MOPS meeting. Our MOPPETS workers care for your children in a safe and loving environment. The MOPPETS program is for infants through kindergarten. Childcare on Tuesday evening is very limited.
How do I join MOPS?
Participation in a MOPS group requires membership at MOPS International. A fee of $23.95 per year will register you, and you will receive a one year subscription to MOMSense magazine, weekly MOM-Email messages, and many other great benefits. There are also semester fees, which support our local MOPS groups at Grace Community Church. They cover the cost of craft supplies, thank you gifts for our speakers, door prizes, dinner (evening only), and much more.
Morning MOPS: $30 per semester (due Oct & Feb)
We have scholarships available based on need.
MOPS fills up very quickly! We are limited in enrollment because of childcare space and required ratios. Therefore, we encourage early registration! New registration is accepted based upon available childcare space, which may vary for different age groups.
What does MOPS on Tuesday mornings look like?
Tuesday morning MOPS meets from 9:30-11:30am every other week from September to May. Each meeting provides an inviting environment where women can come, just as they are, to build friendships, be encouraged, and gain practical parenting strategies, all while their children are lovingly cared for in the MOPPETS program. A typical meeting includes sharing brunch together, listening to a speaker that is of interest to mothers with young children, and doing a creative craft project. Morning MOPS at Grace is a co-op and you will be expected to participate in childcare once per MOPS year as well as provide brunch items periodically throughout the year.
