JOHN 15:12-13

Life Group Discussion

Read John 13:34-35, 15:12-13

* Think of a time in your life when your understanding of how much God loves you deepened. Share with your group the situation/circumstances connected to it, and how you responded to God?

* Jesus tells us that laying down our life is the greatest demonstration of love. We mostly likely will not have to die for someone, but there are times when we demonstrate sacrificial love. Share a time when you intentionally sacrificed your needs for the sake of another.

Read 1 John 3:11-18

* As a child, were you taught how important it is to love others? Share the impact of either having or not having this instruction in your life.

* As a child or as an adult, have there been times when you observed or experienced times of hurt and pain because of someone else’s actions or words? What was your response?

Read 1 John 3:23 and Matthew 22:37-40

* In what specific ways can you live out a stronger determination to obey The Great Commandment?

Application

* We were reminded this week to love as Jesus loves, and that this is one of the best ways to show those around us that we are His followers. As a group, list some practical actions that each of you can do to demonstrate this kind of love.

* What is one thing you can intentionally do this week to love like Jesus?

* Pray for one another and that in the coming week, each person will have the opportunity to show the love of Jesus to someone in their world.
