The Young Adults Ministry kicked off the year with their first quarterly Nerf War. I helped set up the event by fetching the hidden cache of Nerf guns and ammo Young Adults has saved for nights like these. Twelve young adults showed up, composed mainly of the two life groups that meet Monday nights. Our first two games were basic team free-for-alls, but then things got even more interesting.
The third game is known as Protect the President. It consists of two teams, one of terrorists and one of Secret Servicemen. The job of the Secret Servicemen is to defend the President with their lives. The President is unarmed and relies on his/her body guard to get from the starting point to the end or extraction point.
Each guard has three lives before they are out of the game. Each member of the terrorist team can only take one hit before they need to respawn at a designated base. The President can take only one hit and cannot respawn. The job of the terrorists is to take out the President before they reach the extraction point. If they don’t succeed in time, they lose. We played a few different games before cleaning up and heading out. It tired me out, but it was a lot of fun.
The Young Adult Ministry hosts two events monthly and has two life groups that meet Monday nights: one from 7pm-9:30pm and one from 6:30pm-9:00pm. Life groups are an environment to grow, serve, pray, and study God’s Word together.
